Backpacks - What is acceptable? Can you bring one with wheels?
Backpacks may not have wheels. Nor may they contain vulgar, lewd, obscene or other messages which may lead to substantial interference with school activities.
PICK UP/DROP OFF PROCEDURES
What is the drop off / pick up process?

Pick up times are as follows:
K-1st @ 3:00 p.m.
2nd - 4th @ 3:15 p.m.
5th - 8th @ 3:30 p.m.
We ask that parents remain in their vehicle during both drop off and pick up. Staff members will assist your child out of the vehicle if they need help. Staff members will also bring your child to the vehicle at dismissal. Parents/ guardians are welcome to park on the street and walk their child up to school at morning drop off. They are also welcome to park on the street at dismissal and walk and wait for their child to be dismissed for the day.
What if I have more than one child to pick up?
You would pick up the child with the latest pick up time. Any younger children will be gathered in a supervised waiting area.
How early can I drop off?
6:00 a.m. for Before Care program (must be registered)
7:15 a.m. if your child is purchasing breakfast
7:30 a.m. for all other students.
If they arrive before 7:30 a.m., and are not purchasing breakfast, they will have to wait outside until 7:30 a.m.
Is there a breakfast option?
Yes! The cost for a breakfast is $2 per meal and is available starting at 7:15 a.m. Breakfast must be pre-ordered through our meal ordering portal.
Are snacks provided? If so, what time of day do they get snacks?
You may pack a light snack daily for your student. Each grade has different policies for snacks, please check with your child’s teacher for the correct information.
How does the lunch program work? What is the cost?
School lunches are $3.50 per meal. Lunches must be pre-ordered through our meal ordering portal.
Lunch menus are updated monthly and include meals for those with dietary restrictions.
What time is recess/ lunch times?
1st & 2nd: 10:45-11:30
3rd & 4th: 11:15-12:00
K, 7th & 8th: 11:45-12:30
5th & 6th: 12:15-1:00
*All student have a recess for the first 25 minutes of their recess/ lunch period.
Can a parent eat lunch with their child?
Yes! Just sign in at the front office and get a “visitor” badge.
What’s the process for the kids with food allergies? Can other kids bring peanut snacks?
Allergy tables are set-up at lunch. If the allergy is severe enough, the student’s classroom is set as “peanut-free”.
The school does not have any campus-wide food restrictions.
Do the kids wash their hands before lunch?
Yes! We have hand washing stations set-up. Students will have recess before lunch, and wash their hands on the way into the cafeteria.
Can my child bring a bottled water to keep in the classroom or have at recess?
Yes, just make sure the bottle is labeled with their first and last name.
Is there nap time in Kindergarten?
No, there isn’t nap time in Kindergarten.
When is recess? How many do they have and for how long?
Each grade has recess before their scheduled lunch times. The lower grades will have up to two additional recess breaks. Check with your child’s teach for more detailed information.
Elective Courses - What electives does Ridgeline offer?
Daily electives include: Visual Arts, Music, Physical Education, and Spanish.
What is the process if a parent wants to volunteer?
All volunteers must have a valid fingerprint clearance card (FCC) which can be completed via fieldprintarizona.com They must also take a volunteering training course at the school. Ridgeline offers the volunteer training session on Tuesdays at 1pm and Thursdays at 10 am. Volunteers can be used in the classrooms, library, office, lunch/recess time, drop-off and pick-up and on field trips. We love our parent volunteers!
How does Ridgeline enforce and promote a secure campus?
All exterior doors are locked throughout the school day. Visitors must be buzzed in by the front desk and must sign-in with the receptionist.
What is the Detention Policy?
In the event a student is assigned detention or suspension for any reason, it shall be served on the day(s) designated. Detention will always be served at a predetermined time and location as defined by school administration, not the parent/guardian or student. Detention is not assigned to be served at a student’s convenience. If the student is in school but fails to report to detention for any reason, the penalty will be suspension. If the student has an appointment or other conflict with his/her scheduled detention; the appointment or other conflict will have to be changed or rescheduled, not the detention.

What are the services available including rates, payment options and times?

Does Ridgeline offer after school activities and clubs? How do they work, cost, days/times?
Ridgeline offers students in grades K-5 various club options. Many of our clubs are run by outside vendors. They include but are not limited to chess, flag football, soccer, basketball, art, coding, dance, Zumba and golf.
Information is sent home on a quarterly basis and is posted weekly in the News from the Nest.
School supplies - when is the information released?
School supply lists are typically released in May. Keep in mind that these lists may fluctuate yearly. Ridgeline Academy has paired with with EduKit to make the purchasing of school supplies as simple as possible. Flyers are sent home in May of each school year for the following school year.
Is there a meet the teacher night?
Meet the teacher nights are held a few days before the first day of school. The exact date can be found of the school calendar. More Information about these nights will be provided to Ridgeline families during the summer months.
What happens on rain days?
Rainy day schedule: no outdoor recess and students are gathering in the gym during morning drop off and will remain indoors during pick-up until the parent arrives.
What is the school’s policy on picking up between 2:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.?
No student will be released from school after 2:30 p.m. without approval from the school director.
