I am a mother of 2 wonderful kids that challenge me and make me laugh every day. I love to read fiction and bake sweet treats to share with everyone I love.
My favorite quote is “I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul” from the poem Invictus by William Ernest Henley.
My freshman year in high school I had to recite this poem from memory. It is a beautiful poem with a powerful message of perseverance. I still remember every word.
I love being an educator because I love that I teach children to how to read. I was a struggling reader in my early years. I battled dyslexia and had difficulty focusing. I was the kid that always needed the extra time and the extra help. I was lucky to have great teachers in my life who took the time to teach me to read and love books. I want to be that teacher for the kids like me who just need a little extra time and a little extra help.
