Wattu Knight

Hello, my name is Wattu Knight and this is my fourth year at Ridgeline Academy.  Prior to joining Ridgeline, I taught at Adams Traditional Academy for five years. I have training in both Spalding Language Arts and Singapore Math.

Originally I was born in Vietnam, and my family was one of “The Boat People” who escaped from the Communist Regime back in the early 80’s. In fact, this is my third and final attempt, and here I am.  Because of the extreme cold weather in Maryland, my parents relocated to Arizona when I was a child. English is actually my third language. I also speak French and Vietnamese. I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Education and Rehabilitation at the University of Arizona were I met my husband of 29 years. Together we have two amazing and loving teenagers. Beyond teaching, I have worked part time for Costco Wholesale for over 16 years.

Presently I am in the Math Lab, and I love teaching kids. As always, I strongly believe that children are amazing, delicate, and unique individuals. I am looking forward to this coming year.

Here are my favorite quotes: “ A man is great not because he hasn’t failed; a man is great because failure hasn’t stopped him" [Confucius]  and “It’s easier to build a strong children than to repair broken men” [Frederick Douglas].
